Major: Airport Administration Year of Graduation: 1988/2000 Current Position: FLM, ZDC ARTCC, FAA-ATO Hometown: New Leipzig, ND Please describe the path you took from graduation to get to the job you have today: Always interested in Air Traffic Control, took the test and was immediately sent to the FAA Academy in OKC. Passed the Academy Screen and was assigned to Washington Center (ZDC ARTCC). 20+ years with the Agency in various roles. What is the best part of your current job?Being involved in the beginnings of NEXGEN. Most satisfying part of the job is being able to watch and assist the new generation of Air Traffic Controllers become productive and successful. How has your education from the University of North Dakota helped you in your career?Absolutely. All-around knowledge and interest in all aspects of Aviation has proven itself over and over again as a decided advantage in overcoming work related challenges. UND’s Aviation Degree programs helped me immensely by providing me with the necessary knowledge to be taken seriously out in the field. |
